You See?
Updated: Dec 15, 2020
Foreword: I wrote this piece about those who seem to discard others once their purpose has been served. And how this can affect the emotions of the discarded.
It would be nice for me
If only you could see
To show some sensitivity
Rather than discarding me..
It's not that I don't see
How you pick and choose to be
My friend when it suits maybe?
If only you opened your eyes to see..
I know it sounds crazy
To hear this plea from me
Just know it doesn't sit easily
To beg and plead for me..
There's waves of doubt in me
Which to some is pure stupidity
That I think you don't see
But you're not me you see..
I believe my own self inflicted bad press you see
Which to some is understandably
Not a positive way to be
But walk in my shoes and see, how exactly you would be?
It's a chapter in time for me
To ascend this mountain peak
Overcome the summit and see
The path you've set for me..
Although confidence has slipped from me
I know there's a faith inside of me
You haven't left or forsaken me
I'm just temporarily blind, can't see..
The light again will shine on me
Piercing me ever so bright you see
So I am free
Destroy my darkness and be.
