Would You?

Updated: Dec 15, 2020

Foreword: My perception of hiding behind what you want the world to see. From a personal perspective and also looking from a third person viewpoint.

Clowns face slipping from me

To show the grotesque me

I think if you really knew me

Would you even like me?

I sit and I write to show me

For all of you to see me

Take a tour inside me

Would you even like me?

For the masses to discover me

My soul in shop window, see?

Displaying a half price version of me

Would you even like me?

In a world that is only about me

Isn't it clear for you to see?

If you knew my mundane me

Would you even like me?

I open up what's inside of me

Let it fly to soar, to leave me

Petrified I can be

But would you even like me?

I'm tied to the mast of my master, me

Torn apart in my sea

I close my eyes and drown underneath me

To think of me as I see me, would you even like me?
