Unknown Land.

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

Foreword: I wrote this piece following a rather dark day mood wise, inspired by my surroundings and what I saw whilst walking the dog.

Stand atop and stare I do Into the abyss below Numbed by darkness all around Hope's in hand wind blew

Scattered and whipped, torn away Up and gone for good Over landscape out of reach Dark clouds match the mood

Dead leaves blow across the pavement Sounds an eerie applause Scattered away disperse from view Mocks me like a fool

Dark moors loom from afar Sense my darkened mood Taunting, sneering, looks down on me Hidden eyes they disapprove

But then the sun appears  Rays reach like hopeful hands Stretch out and over me Darkness overrun

Wander on in search I do Look for perfect plan Continued journey lingers on Across my unknown land..
