Tree of Summer.

Updated: Dec 16, 2020

Foreword - I wrote this piece on the same day I wrote "On a Summers Bench" Inspired, not only by the fine weather on that day, but also the view of the tree which stretched out above me, and the sounds around me.

A city of leaves, stretch out above me

The branches entwining, beyond into mystery

Highways of wood, the tree of summer

Twigs moving with breezes rustle

I lay here admiring nature's artwork, summer warmth, not moving a muscle

Blue backdrop beyond, high playground for soaring

Above it all wispy cotton blankets

Disturbed only by roaring

Of children, who play, and run with cares free,

My summer summer days, stretch out before me.
