Foreword: After a particularly bad day at work, and not particularly because of the people I interacted with. More to do with frustration at myself and my perceived poor performance. I needed to write it out of my mind.
Ever had those days when you just wanna check out? Get off this crazy world Before more of you it flouts?
You wake feeling dead Before you're even up Pessimistic, optimistic You can't even see your cup
To check if its half full or empty Another grind ahead Another morning like this Sure I've had plenty
The familiar feeling looms Of ground hog day returns Far off places fill my mind Peaceful place I yearn
Fogginess fills my skull On a daily basis Think I need to sleep some more Before I go too crazy
But up I get, another day To do it all again Duty calls, so loud it calls From it I can't refrain... (©) Dom Giddy 2019
