My Own Thoughts

Foreword: Written from a perspective of an over thinker. Which I have been for decades. But also from the perspective of an over thinker with a faith in God.

If left only to my own thoughts

What would become of me?

Would they overcome completely

So blinded I could not see?

Would they flow uncontrollably

Rage as a river torrent

Split my skull open with thoughts to see

Would you find me abhorrent?

I am but a man

A sinner in it's purest form

Thoughts good or bad known to God and me

Am I any different from the norm?

If left only to my own thoughts

Each and every day

If they consumed me and nothing else

Could I find another way?

In my thoughts I hear my God

Say 'You know I am the way'

'I saved you then, I'll save you now'

'In your thoughts, by your side I'll stay'.

If left only to my own thoughts

What would become of me?

My Saviour God would not dessert me

Despite my thoughts of me.
