Her Worth

Foreword: I wrote this for my wife. She has been unappreciated in previous professional roles which angers me. She is now studying a masters degree in clinical associate psychology which is what she has always wanted to do.
You don't see what I see
You don't see her worth
A ray of light too blind to see
From way up there on your perch..
A plethora of knowledge in your midst
You decided to ignore
Left to wonder why she's gone
In search of something more..
There you sit high above
In your ivory tower
Too far up to even see her there
Punch drunk on your arrogant power..
But you will see once she's gone
The impact she has made
When you turn to seek advice
Gone, now a memory to fade.
