Foreword: This piece was inspired by a close friend who has been experiencing some intense anxiety. They described the anxiety as sleeping inside once the anxiety had passed.
Asleep inside, after our white knuckle ride
You've left me speechless
Unable to confide..
Asleep inside, you melt away
Stagger from me
Until another day..
Asleep inside, with eyes shut tight
Too blind to see me
Ignore my fight..
Asleep inside, led to believe you're gone
But we both know
Of me you make fun..
Asleep inside, deep within you are
Until my next chapter
For you to scar..
Asleep inside, asleep inside
I'll see you again
When you're too bored to hide.
