A Million Reasons

Foreword: When I think too much about my own failings of the past, the present and no doubt of those to come, I begin to over analyse. Every day I'm thankful I am forgiven and loved by God. Loved by my wife and family despite my many flaws.

There are a million reasons

I could give you not to love me.

And a million more if I tried

I could write them all down

On a chalk board for you

And you'd rub them out with tears from my eyes.

There are a million reasons

I could give you, let you walk away from me

Show you the path, hold your hand, understand.

But just like the tide on the shore

At the end of each day

The reasons like footprints you'd wash from the sand.

There are a million reasons I'm sure

Why you deserve more than me

And a million more I've forgotten I'm certain

And infinite failings in me you don't see

When centre stage daily I stand on opening night of my life play.

Saved by you, you're my life theatre safety curtain.

There are a million reasons

I could give you not to love me

And a million more if I tried

You'd write down one reason, not a million

On my chalk board for me

'Unconditional love, we're tied'
